Bicycles should fit the rider. We do not sell you a bicycle simply because we have it in stock. If it is not the correct size, we will not sell it to you. We will order the correct size to make sure that you are riding the appropriate bicycle.
Recreational bikes do not normally require custom fitting. However, we do offer fitting for serious riders, or those interested in a more precise fit. We use the Bio Size measurement stand (top left) by BiciSupport, and a fitting program by Fit Kit Systems (below). The rider's body measurements are taken using the stand, then entered into the software for analysis. The Fit Kit software determines the correct frame size, stem length, etc. from this data. To test out the new dimensions, the bicycle can be placed in a stand and adjusted. We use an adjustable stem (bottom left) for testing the fit before the actual stem is installed. We do take into consideration riding preferences, individual biomechanics, etc., when performing a fit. Fitting is part science and part art, and we use common sense in conjunction with the calculated results.
We also have the full Ergo Fit System developed by 8-time US National Champion Paul Swift for proper pedal and cleat adjustment.
The fitting does take time, and there is a charge for the service, but we believe that the initial investment pays dividends immediately!
